Did you know – There are more than 6 million children in the U.S. that have asthma – that’s nearly 1 in 10 children. Although there are medicines to treat the condition, more than 38% of children with asthma continue to experience uncontrolled symptoms, which could lead to emergency room visits, hospital stays and missed days of school.
Today Dr. Warner W. Carr from the Allergy & Asthma Associates of Southern California is here to explain how and why the FDA just expanded the use of a medicine to treat uncontrolled asthma to include children as young as age six.
